Responsibilities

• Write and edit press materials, website content, bulletins, and social media copy to promote union and its members.

• Monitor sports, media, and labor news to inform earned and owned media strategies. Report trends to relevant staff.

• Conduct interviews with notable union figures for internal and external communications initiatives.

• Develop communications plans, media briefs, and coverage reports for senior leadership.

• Research international publications to expand union’s global outreach. Respond to media inquiries. Maintain media list. 

• Answer office phone, directing internal and external callers to social benefits help, legal services, agent info, and more.

Accomplishments

• Led MLBPA’s 2024 Black History Month campaign with original website and social media content, highlighting notable baseball and baseball union figures.

• Led MLBPA’s monthly 10 Years of Service Time series, honoring players who reached a significant milestone in labor.

• Compiled a list of former professional players in college coaching across all collegiate divisions, supporting the launch of future Players Way initiatives.
