Born in the Bronx, New York, Jalen fell in love with writing at a young age and adopted it as his mode of informing and entertaining others. At Haverford College, he majored in English and minored in Visual Studies to develop his skills in creative storytelling and effective communication. Through his extracurriculars and early career experiences, he has expanded his abilities in video production, project management, and leadership.
Although arts and sports stand out as longtime passions, Jalen is most interested in the humanity that underlines them. In all his work, he seeks to highlight diverse identities, compelling histories, unique intersections, and reasons to engage with stories beyond recreation and entertainment.
Jalen would best describe himself as opportunistic, dependable, and detail-oriented. He meets every challenge with relentless resilience and takes pride in being adaptable to new responsibilities.
In his free time, Jalen roots for New York sports teams, binges sitcoms and dramedies, and makes his way through an ever-growing list of book recommendations.
